This is what makes this dip so economical and practical.
Is bean dip healthy?
Well, that depends on how it is prepared, this recipe is healthy, by using whole black beans and spices, there are no artificial ingredients or lard added. Also, we have control over what goes into the dip, I like to keep my sodium content in check. The flavor comes from the spices and herbs. Black beans are a wonderful source of protein and fiber, aiding in lowering blood pressure and weight loss. There’s a whopping 7.5 grams of protein in only half a cup! But then there’s the dilemma of what to dip in it!? You can use homemade whole wheat pita chips or vegetables and you have yourself a nutritious snack. This also makes a great spread as a base for veggie wraps or veggie pita pockets.
